Healing Ministry

Master's Degree and Certificate Programs

Master’s Degree in Healing Ministry from the Athens School of Ministry & Worship Arts is intended to focus students on their own spiritual formation in order that they may serve as God’s instrument for bringing healing to others. The program provides a strong background in counseling theory and practice as well as extended experience in counseling settings. The program integrates clinical practice with counseling theory, biblical truth, and personal spiritual formation. The first year of the program focuses on individual counseling therapy, the second year focuses on couples, families, and groups.  Students are required to engage in their own personal counseling while enrolled in the program. At the culmination of the program, students will be equipped to serve as Ministers of Pastoral Care and Counseling.

Individuals who hold pastoral, counseling, or social work credentials or who are currently pursuing master's level coursework at an accredited institution in counseling or social work may pursue a Certificate Program in Healing Ministry as an effective way to integrate a strong faith-based focus to their credentials.
